Brush Clearing Record - October 2026-October 2027

Since 2021 Harfords Point has been designated a Firewise community. This national award acknowledges our dedication to reducing the risk of wildfires. As part of this program the Maine Forest Service conducted an annual chipping day during which they would chip brush that property owners collected roadside.

Although the Forest Service can no longer provide this service, we are still dedicated to reducing fire risk by having homeowners continue to clear brush around their properties. In order to maintain our Firewise designation we ask homeowners to record their efforts to control fire risk by recording the amount of brush they remove each year.
